CHARACTER BACKGROUND

I. EARLY YEARSBorn as the eldest child out of three siblings, in a household that always placed a heavy emphasis on academics above everything; Soren was raised from an early age thinking that your grades and achievements are the only things that defined you.And even though he had been one of the most exceptional kids in his class, this was inherently difficult for the young child to maintain. Since at that time, he had trouble grasping concepts, though he did his best to understand them, he still had to put in three or four times more effort than his peers.The fact that his future had already been planned out for him since he was born - being in the medical field, alongside his mother, ultimately caused him to start feeling the huge pressure to excel at everything that he does looming above him every single time..II. TEEN YEARSHowever, this all changed when he discovered his passion for music. As a sheltered kid, Soren hadn't ever been anywhere other than school, after-school club activities, and home.So, when he was presented with the opportunity to come watch his friend's older brother's band practice, he took it. Instantly getting taken in by the beauty of being able to express himself in the form of music and lyrics.And from that point on, Soren was enamored. Music was where he found the rest that he was searching for in his constantly tiring world. It was where he started to discover who he really was and fell completely in love with his first guitar - the very first thing that he secretly saved up for and kept away from his parents prying eyes.Taking the initiative, he started learning how to play, enduring sneaking out after school to practice playing the guitar more and the countless nights staying up late to make up for the study time he lost during the afternoons. He continued to persevere.Though, the young man knew that it was a futile fight. From the start, he was quite aware that his parents wouldn't support him on the path that he liked. But, Soren wanted to try. For once, he had found something that he wanted to do. Not what anybody else wants, but just simply what he wants.That decision of his ended up in a very messy fight with his parents when his grades started slipping. Especially, after they found out the reason why he did so. But Soren was adamant about pursuing music and opposed his parents' wishes.And it completely came back to bite him in the ass when the latter started to put pressure on his younger siblings. And as much as he wanted to do what he wanted, the lad knew that he couldn't be selfish. He wouldn't be able to handle knowing that his younger siblings would suffer the same way that he did.Even though he did not want to let his parents think they were right in saying that he was wasting his life with Music, the lad was not given any other choice. It was either his passion or his siblings' freedom.With a heavy heart, Soren had to suck it up and once again made the decision that changed the course of his life for the second time. He gave up on the only thing that kept his feet from the edge. Choosing to jump down the never-ending cycle of the world and follow what his parents wanted for him..
III. PRESENT YEARSThe only silver lining he has in his life now is the fact that he found something much more profound from all of it.He might have lost the only thing he truly loved genuinely, but the young Wenceslao is starting to discover a whole lot of things he would care for - or that is what he wants to believe in..
